LeBron James and a group of athletes and entertainers have come together to form a new organization called More Than a Vote, with the mission to protect voter rights for Black people. The group aims to inspire African-Americans to register and cast their ballots in the upcoming November presidential election.
James expressed that with the recent events and the heightened attention on racial issues, people are finally starting to listen and it is the right time to make a difference. More Than a Vote not only wants to encourage people to vote, but also plans to provide tutorials and background information on how to vote and the efforts made to suppress Black votes.
James mentioned that the killing of George Floyd further motivated him to take action and that he is inspired by past athletes who stood up for what is right in even worse times.

A recent poll conducted by Mitchell Research reveals that former President Donald Trump is narrowly leading President Joe Biden in the swing-state of Michigan. The survey, which included 627 voters, found that Trump leads Biden 47% to 44%.
However, the race is still considered tight due to the survey's margin of error of ±3%. In a five-way trial ballot test, Trump leads with 44% compared to Biden's 42%, followed by independent candidates Robert F.
Kennedy Jr. (6%), Dr.
Jill Stein from the Green Party (1%), and Cornel West (1%). The poll also highlighted demographic differences, with Trump having a significant lead among men and Biden leading with women.
Additionally, Trump leads among white voters but trails Biden with black American voters. Overall, the poll suggests that Trump's lead may be due to a lack of support from African Americans and younger voters for Biden.

The article explores the true story behind Netflix's film "Shirley," which dramatizes Shirley Chisholm's historic bid to become the first black woman president in 1972. Chisholm, who was the first black woman elected to the United States Congress in 1968, faced numerous challenges and obstacles during her campaign.
The article highlights some of these difficulties, including her struggle to secure support from feminist leaders and black men, as well as the threats she received during her campaign. Despite the odds, Chisholm's legacy endured, and her story continues to inspire civic engagement today.
The film hopes to bring Chisholm's story to a wider audience and encourage viewers to participate in the political process.
Independent White House candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
is actively seeking support from Black voters in an attempt to erode President Biden's backing among this crucial demographic. Kennedy is making appearances in Black churches, participating in roundtable discussions, and connecting with influential Black figures in the entertainment industry.
Some Black political and media figures are concerned that Kennedy's efforts could harm Biden's chances of reelection, while others are intrigued by his message and believe he could provide an alternative to the two-party system. Kennedy's willingness to engage with voters directly and speak honestly has resonated with some Black voters who feel ignored by the Democratic and Republican parties.
Kennedy's agenda focuses on "racial healing" and includes proposals for police and prison reform, improving school infrastructure, and addressing addiction issues.

In this article, the focus is on Charlamagne Tha God's interview with Joe Biden on "The Breakfast Club" radio show. Charlamagne provocatively stated that if voters choose Trump, they aren't Black, which caused shockwaves through Biden's campaign.
This raised questions about whether the Democratic Party is taking the support of African American voters for granted. The article doesn't provide much context or insight into Charlamagne's perspective or Biden's response, leaving readers curious about the details of the interview.
Overall, the article presents a glimpse into an intriguing conversation that has sparked controversy and highlights the importance of the Black vote in the upcoming election.

In an upcoming election between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, many Americans are not feeling favorable towards either candidate, creating a group of voters referred to as "double haters." These voters could hold the key to a close election.
An ABC News/Ipsos poll taken in early March found that 54% of respondents had an unfavorable view of Biden, while 59% had an unfavorable view of Trump. Shoring up support from these voters will be crucial for both candidates.
ABC News spoke with some "double hater" voters to understand their views on the candidates and if their opinions could change before the election. Many expressed disillusionment with the current state of politics and concerns about issues such as age, policy, and inflation.
Some voters said they would consider voting for third-party candidates, while others highlighted the need for bold action from the candidates to change their views.

In this article, political commentator and consultant Adolph Mongo discusses the changing political landscape in Macomb County, Michigan, and the upcoming contest for the 10th Congressional District. Mongo reflects on the county's history of racism and bigotry, but notes that the increasing number of Black voters in the area is leading to a shift in leadership and representation.
He criticizes incumbent Congressman John James for remaining silent on issues of hate and bigotry within his party, and contrasts him with his opponent, veteran Democratic politician Carl Marlinga, who has a history of fighting for equal rights. Mongo argues that James cannot ignore the needs of his constituents and calls on him to speak out against the chaos and disorganization within his party.
Ultimately, Mongo suggests that the increasing voting power of Black voters in Macomb County may decide the outcome of the election.
