With the US election approaching, experts are focusing on six key swing states that will likely decide the outcome: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Both Democratic President Joe Biden and his Republican predecessor Donald Trump are campaigning intensively in these states to win over undecided voters.
In Arizona, the focus is on immigration and abortion access. Georgia is important due to its large African-American population, but disillusionment among black voters may pose a challenge for Biden.
Michigan is symbolic of a nationwide backlash over Trump's support for Israel. Nevada, despite having a history of voting Democratic, is showing signs of support for Republicans.
Pennsylvania, a pivotal state in the 2020 election, is seeing high inflation that could harm Biden's chances. Finally, Wisconsin, a closely contested state, could be impacted by third-party candidates campaigning against Biden and Trump.

According to a report released by Pew, most black Americans believe in racial conspiracy theories about U.S.
institutions. However, the share of black people who say they have experienced discrimination and had to work harder to get ahead is gradually decreasing among each age demographic.
This suggests that each generation is moving further away from the racism of the past. Democratic politicians, including President Joe Biden, constantly tell black adults that their country does not love them and that they have to work ten times harder to get a fair shot.
The purpose of this messaging is to make black people believe that society is rigged against them, ensuring their dependence on the Democratic Party. However, as the country becomes less racist and younger generations of black people become less convinced of widespread racism, this fearmongering becomes less effective.
In fact, black adults who are Democrats are more likely to believe in racial conspiracy theories than black adults who are Republicans. Therefore, if the messaging that the system is out to get black people does not resonate, they are more likely to support Republican candidates than Democrats.

The New York Times Magazine published an article titled "The Disturbing Truth About Hair Relaxers," which explores the health risks associated with hair relaxers and questions why these products are still aggressively marketed to Black women. The article highlights the work of Dr.
Tamarra James-Todd, an associate professor of environmental reproductive epidemiology at Harvard's T.H.
Chan School of Public Health, who has conducted extensive research on the chemicals in hair products used by Black women and the reproductive health disparities within this population. Hair relaxers have been found to contain harmful chemicals that are linked to reproductive disorders and cancers.
Black women are disproportionately affected by these health issues, including uterine fibroids, preterm birth, infertility, and certain types of cancer. Despite the evidence, hair relaxers are still widely used and promoted in the market.
The article sheds light on the need to address the dangers of hair relaxers and the importance of informing and protecting the health of Black women.

A new poll from the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) reveals that senior voters in the battleground state of Arizona are favoring Donald Trump over Joe Biden. The poll shows that Trump leads overall in Arizona with 45% support, compared to Biden's 37%.
Among voters aged 50 and older, Trump's lead widens to 49% to 39%. This shift in support among senior voters highlights a potential weakness for Biden, whose support among other demographics has also dropped since the 2020 election.
Despite efforts to court senior voters with policies on healthcare and social security, Biden's support among this key demographic seems to be waning. However, Biden's weakness among senior voters does not reflect a broader split in the Democratic Party, as Arizona voters overall favor Democrat Ruben Gallego over Republican Kari Lake in the state's race for a U.
S. Senate seat.
Biden's campaign plans to launch "Seniors for Biden-Harris" in Arizona with bingo events, while First Lady Jill Biden will also speak to seniors in the state.

Blair LM Kelley’s book, Black Folk: The Roots of the Black Working Class, provides a comprehensive history of the Black working class in America over the past two and a half centuries. Kelley’s analysis sheds light on the intertwined relationship between race, labor, and class in American society and highlights the central role of the Black working class in the broader struggles for social and economic equality.
The book explores the experiences of Black working-class men and women throughout history, from slavery to sharecropping, the Great Migration, and the civil rights era. Kelley emphasizes the importance of labor in Black history and examines how working-class organizing and activism played a critical role in shaping the civil rights movement.
By focusing on the Black working class and its long history, Kelley’s book offers valuable insights into the larger story of American democracy.

Former President Donald Trump's campaign, in collaboration with the Republican National Committee and Pennsylvania GOP, has opened a new "Latino Americans for Trump" outreach office in Reading, Pennsylvania. The office opening event featured speeches from former Puerto Rico Governor Luis Fortuno and other supporters.
The campaign aims to boost support among Hispanic voters in Pennsylvania, which is a swing state that could have a significant impact on the election. Reading has a large Latino population, and the campaign is hoping that promises of entrepreneurship and smaller government will resonate with this demographic.
However, it remains to be seen if Trump can capitalize on the drop in President Joe Biden's approval rating among Hispanic adults in national polls. Biden's campaign has dismissed the office openings as superficial attempts to target minority voters.

In a recent event, Florida Congressman Byron Donalds made a controversial statement comparing today's Black culture with that of the Jim Crow era, and his comments have drawn criticism from Democrats. Donalds claimed that during Jim Crow, the Black family was together and more Black people were conservative and voted conservatively.
He also suggested that federal efforts to fight poverty, particularly those implemented by Lyndon Johnson's administration, contributed to the breakup of Black families. Experts analyze Donalds' claims and find that while there is some statistical evidence to support his statement about higher Black marriage rates during Jim Crow, it is important to consider other factors such as economic changes and rising divorce rates.
Furthermore, it is difficult to prove whether Black people voted conservatively during that time, as many were unable to vote due to discriminatory laws. Critics argue that Donalds is misrepresenting history and ignoring the negative impact of racism and poverty on Black families.

The article discusses the issue of black unemployment and how it is being exploited by President Donald Trump to gain support from black voters. The author argues that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is not effectively addressing the issue and is instead focusing on black victimization.
The author also points out that while black college graduates have more opportunities than ever before, there is still an underemployment problem among young black Americans. The article highlights a rally in the Bronx where Trump spoke about unifying all Americans and delivering better opportunities, and the author notes that attendees, including black and Latino Americans, were enthusiastic in their support.
However, the author criticizes the legacy press for focusing on trivial details, such as the presence of rappers with pending felony charges, instead of highlighting the diversity of Trump's supporters. The article concludes by stating that the employment woes of young black Americans are being overshadowed by the media's focus on Trump's messaging struggles.

The #MeToo movement, which was originally focused on women speaking out against sexual assault and harassment, has brought attention to the fact that men can also be victims. Recently, actor Michael Rainey Jr.
, star of the TV series "Power Book II," publicly revealed that he was groped on camera during a livestream event. Rainey expressed his shock and discomfort over the incident, and emphasized that sexual assault is never okay, regardless of gender.
However, rapper 50 Cent, who produces the series, downplayed the incident and made light of the situation in a now-deleted Instagram post. The incident highlighted the importance of recognizing that black men also deserve protection from assault and harassment.
Rainey is not the first high-profile black male to speak out about his experience with sexual assault, as actor and comedian Terry Crews also came forward in 2017. These incidents show that society needs to treat all victims of sexual assault with the same seriousness and respect.
The Oklahoma Supreme Court has dismissed a lawsuit brought by survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre seeking reparations for the destruction of the Black Greenwood district. The court upheld a previous ruling that while the grievances of the plaintiffs were legitimate, they did not fall within the scope of the state's public nuisance statute.
The lawsuit aimed to hold the city of Tulsa and other defendants accountable for the violence and destruction caused by a white mob in 1921, which resulted in the loss of lives and the decimation of a thriving Black community. The dismissal of the lawsuit has been seen as a blow to advocates for racial justice who had hoped for financial amends to be made.
The court's decision determined that relief was not possible under any set of facts consistent with the plaintiffs' allegations.

Former President Donald Trump will visit Detroit, Michigan, on Saturday to engage with the city's black voters. Trump's visit will include a roundtable discussion at 180 Church, where he plans to discuss Joe Biden's failure to address the needs of Detroit and the state of Michigan.
Trump lost Michigan to Biden by a margin of 154,000 votes in the 2020 election. However, Trump's visit is not without reason.
First, he has a chance to win Michigan again, as current polling shows a tight race. Second, Trump has been fearless in addressing the failures of the Democratic Party in improving the lives of black Americans.
This approach has garnered support from black voters, particularly black men. Lastly, by courting the black vote, Trump forces Biden to spend time and resources on a voter base he may have taken for granted.
Overall, Trump's visit to Detroit is a strategic move that could influence the outcome of the upcoming election.

In this article, the author celebrates the influence of Black queer women in music and their impact on pushing the culture towards inclusion. From pioneers like Ma Rainey to contemporary artists like Janelle Monáe, these women have used their music to resist societal norms and express their authentic selves.
Ma Rainey, known as the "Mother of Blues," openly sang about her love for women in a time when it was taboo. Janelle Monáe, on the other hand, explores themes of identity and sexuality in her music, advocating for LGBTQ+ rights.
The article also highlights the contributions of artists like Meshell Ndegeocello, Big Freedia, Tracy Chapman, and Toshi Reagon. Their stories and music spark conversations about the intersectionality of race, class, and sexuality.
The author concludes by emphasizing the importance of their legacy in paving the way for future generations and breaking barriers in the music industry.
According to a recent poll conducted by the Marist Poll survey, former President Donald Trump is leading President Joe Biden by 2 points among Pennsylvania voters. The poll found that Trump received 47% support, while Biden received 45% support.
Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy garnered only 3% support, while 2% remained undecided.
Trump also held a lead among independent voters in the state. Pennsylvania, which narrowly voted for Biden in the 2020 election, is considered a critical battleground state for both candidates in the upcoming rematch.
The poll also noted a drop in support for Biden among Black voters and younger voters. The survey was conducted from June 3-6 and included 1,181 registered voters in Pennsylvania.
The margin of error was 3.6 percentage points.

In a recent study by the Pew Research Center, it was found that the majority of Black people in America believe in "racial conspiracy theories," which suggests that American institutions are designed to hold them back. However, given the country's history, can you really blame Black people for having such suspicions? The trans-Atlantic slave trade alone is evidence of a real conspiracy against Black people, involving mass kidnapping, trafficking, rape, torture, and forced labor.
Furthermore, white elites have consistently conspired to silence Black voices and knowledge, regulate Black reading and education, and suppress Black voting rights. From unethical medical testing to the theft of Black land, the evidence of real conspiracies against Black people is plentiful.
Black Americans do not need a study from a white author disguised as a brother to validate their experiences, as they can speak for themselves. Ultimately, white America does not need this information because they are the ones perpetuating and benefiting from the system of racial oppression.
